A short black and white graphic novel, experimenting some story telling and layout techniques.
First page of a short graphic novel presenting a character walking in a desert. The colours are purely black and white with no shadings in between. The page is made of four panels mimicking a zoom in effect on the walking character: first panel is only the desert far away, second panel the character as a small distanced silhouette, third panel the character appearing from head to knees and finally fourth panel close up on the character face and eyes. He is dressed in black wearing protective glasses attached to a veil covering his mouth, a shoulder pad and bandage on the right arm and garment attached on his left side from his hips down to his feet. He is carrying on his back a wand.

The page, made of purely black and white with no other shades, presents an intricate layout with the inside of a tower and an endless staircase standing in the middle of the page from top to bottom. On the left side there is a spaceship surrounded by flames and smoke firing a missile and lost in an army of others in the background. The spaceship is made of a cubic shape attached to two side engines with a scythe attached underneath. On the right side of the page there is an old city at the top and a cloud of smoke and flames below that is actually the result of missiles fired by the spaceship on the left side. In the foreground of the overall page in addition to its bottom there is the profile silhouette of the character from page one walking up some stairs.

This solid black and white page presents a bandaged arm coming out of rubble. Behind we can see a cloud of smoke and the broken face of a statue coming out of the rubble. In the background there is a 3 panelled collapsing tower: the tower stands, the tower collapses, the tower is lost in the cloud of smoke.
